ROTE8 goes underground with two heavyweights of purist techno, Phil Berg & Kr!z. Phil Berg will be making his Toronto debut with an extended 3 hour set. Phil brings a hypnotic, driving sound that's landed on SK_Eleven, Phorum, and most recently Mutual Rytm, taking him through venues such as Bassiani, Tresor, and Basement. Expect an extended set from Phil :) Kr!z, founder of Token Records, brings over a decade of deep, syncopated sets built like a slow-burn ritual, a defining voice in the genre in his own right. Intensities build up and collapse under his skillful hands, knowing what each knob twist will result in. Each set feels almost like a mathematical calculation, deciphering the code of collective ecstasy. Local support from ROTE8 resident, Lee Osborne, owner of label Assemble Records, and a three-decade fixture of Toronto's scene, and Darkova, bringing a classically-trained, ritualistic edge to the floor.
